Can a notary come directly to a hospital room?

Can a hospital notary notarize a power of attorney?
A notary may notarize an eligible document when the signer is present, understands the document, demonstrates willingness to sign, and meets applicable identification requirements. The notary cannot provide legal advice or determine whether a document is appropriate.
Is notarization required for every living will or advance directive?
Not every form has the same execution requirements. Follow the instructions included with your document or provided by your attorney, healthcare system, or state form.

What if the patient is unable to sign normally?
Alternative signature procedures may be possible in some circumstances, but they depend on Maryland law, the document, the patient's ability to communicate, and the receiving institution's requirements. Discuss the situation before booking.
