International Documents Made Clear

Apostille, federal authentication, embassy legalization—explained upfront with transparent pricing.

Which Route Does Your Document Need?

Maryland Apostille (Hague Convention Countries)

Your document needs a certified stamp from the Maryland Secretary of State. This proves it's real and usable in any Hague Convention country (most of the world—including Canada, UK, Australia, Mexico, most of Europe). Standard turnaround: 5–7 business days. Price: $175 + state fee.

Federal Apostille (FBI, IRS, SSA, Federal Courts)

Federal documents (FBI background checks, IRS letters, Social Security records, federal court orders) get authenticated by the U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. We hand-carry them (not mail) for faster turnaround. Standard: $250. Rush (24–48 hours): $350.

Embassy Legalization (Non-Hague Countries)

Countries outside the Hague Convention (UAE, China, India, Russia, many others) require a multi-step legalization: Maryland notarization → Maryland Secretary of State → U.S. Department of State → Foreign Embassy in Washington, DC. Timeline: 2–4 weeks. Price: from $350, varies by country.

Dual Citizenship & Immigration Dossiers

Italian Jure Sanguinis, Indian OCI, Spanish, Mexican citizenship—each has unique document requirements. We help you organize vital records, get them apostilled, and prepare them for submission. Price: from $325 (family file).

Common Ask

International Document Questions

How do I know if my country is in the Hague Convention?

Most countries are—including Canada, UK, Australia, Mexico, and most of Europe. Non-Hague countries include UAE, China, India, Russia, and several others. Tell us your destination country and we'll confirm the right route.

Do I need the document notarized first?

Usually yes. Notarization is the first step—it proves the signature is real. Then the state certifies the notarization, then (if needed) the federal government authenticates it, then the foreign embassy legalizes it. We handle all steps.

Can you apostille documents I didn't sign?

Yes. Birth certificates, marriage certificates, diplomas, court orders, FBI checks—any document issued by a government agency can be apostilled. We don't notarize them; we certify they're authentic copies and submit them for apostille.

How long does federal apostille really take?

Standard: 7–10 business days. Rush: 24–48 hours. We hand-carry documents to the U.S. Department of State office in DC instead of mailing them, which saves a week. The government processes it the same day we submit.

What if my country isn't Hague Convention and I don't know which embassy handles legalization?

We research it. Every non-Hague country has its own rules and embassy contacts. The free document review includes figuring out exactly what your country requires and the fees involved.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We use tracked international courier (UPS, FedEx) to ship your authenticated documents anywhere in the world. Shipping cost depends on the destination but is included in our quotes.

What's your response time?

We reply within 1 business hour during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM). Upload your documents or call 301-758-0373 to get started immediately.
